Johny Todd Ltd. is committed to safeguarding your privacy. At all times we aim to respect any personal data you share with us, to keep it safe and to use it only for the purposes intended by you.  

We believe your privacy is paramount and will never share your details or online data with anyone else. 

This Privacy Notice explains how and why we use the personal data you give us and your rights under the law – please read it carefully.

1) What information do we collect from you and why?

(i) Keeping in Touch

If you register with us to be kept informed about our designs and products, Johny Todd Ltd. will never share your details or data with anyone else. [* see exceptions - 4(i)]

You are able to update, revise or delete your data at any time.  If you ask to be kept informed about our activities,  we will collect and use your name and email address and other details you give and will from time to time contact you about the subjects areas you register an interest in. 

(ii) Making a Purchase

If you make a purchase from us Johny Todd Ltd. will never collect and store your payment details.  We’ll always provide options to make a payment without divulging your sensitive financial details, but in the case of card payments via telephone, they will need to be given each time you place an order.  We never collect or store these details.

When an order is made, a name and both a billing and a postal address will be needed. This is solely to enable your payment to process and to ship purchased item(s) to you.  If you DO NOT want this information to be kept by Johny Todd Ltd. please tell us.   

If you place any order with Johny Todd Ltd. that needs to be sent via shipping partners we will need your an email address to acknowledge your order and a postal address to then send the items to you.

We usually request your telephone number, so that in the event of a problem with processing your order, we can contact you quickly.  

 (iii) Exclusions

Johny Todd Ltd. will never collect, store or process what is defined as ‘sensitive personal data’ from anyone - for example, an individual’s age, health, religious beliefs, or racial/ethnic origin. Johny Todd Ltd. does not knowingly collect, store or process the personal information of any person under the age of 16.

2) What are our lawful grounds for processing your personal information?

The following lawful grounds apply to Johny Todd Ltd. processing of personal information:

(i) Consent:   We will ask for your consent to use your personal information in order to send you communications including our email newsletter, and to process purchases and payments.

(ii) Legitimate Interest:  Personal information can be collected and used on the grounds of legitimate reason; where people’s data is used in ways they would reasonably expect and which have a minimal privacy impact, or where there is a compelling justification or legal requirement for the processing - such as processing payment or sending purchased goods.

(iii) Existing Johny Todd Ltd. e-subscribers, who have in many cases been receiving our communications for several years, fall into this category.

3) How long do we keep your information?

We keep your contact information (postal and/or email) until such time as you ask us to stop contacting you.

We never keep customer’s payment information, such as card numbers, bank account numbers etc. even if asked to do so.  

This does not include organisations, companies or people who are our creditors, or to which Johny Todd Ltd. is purchasing from, or for services to which Johny Todd Ltd. subscribes, or owes payment to.  In these cases any details will be kept securely and encrypted within a banking app in lieu of payment(s) schedules.

4) Who might we share your information with and what is our approach to security?

Johny Todd Ltd. will never make your personal data available to any other organisation.

Exceptions are:

(i) your email address, when you have requested to be kept informed by email. These emails are sent using the widely-used MailChimp product.

Registering to be kept informed by Johny Todd Ltd. using email means that you accept the MailChimp terms of use and privacy policy - * https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy

(ii) your postal address, when you have placed an order and a physical product is to be sent to you.  Products are sent using Royal Mail services and are processed with our Secure Royal Mail Online Business Account Application. (OBA)

Your postal address is entered into our OBA in order to purchase the relevant postal service for you order.  The postal addresses are stored securely within the Johny Todd Ltd. OBA.  

Making purchase from Johny Todd Ltd. means that you accept the use of your address in this way.

It is never shared.

Financial transactions:

Transactions made via telephone or SMS payment-requests are handled by SumUp.   https://www.sumup.co.uk/privacy/

Our website payments are handled by Stripe  https://www.stripe.com/gb/privacy

All Amazon & eBay payments are handled by PayPal. https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full

We endeavour to ensure that there are appropriate physical, electronic and organisational measures in place to prevent the loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of or unauthorised access to your personal information. Your personal information is not processed by or made available to any external organisation or agency except as described in this Privacy Notice.

5) What about links to other websites?

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. Once you have used any of these links to leave our website you should be aware that because we do not have any control over other websites, Johny Todd Ltd. cannot be held responsible for the protection and privacy of any information you may provide to them on-line, neither are such sites governed by this Privacy Notice. You should exercise caution and examine the privacy notice(s) of any website(s) visited.

6) What are cookies and how do we use them?

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

You can write to us at any time for confirmation of what information we hold on you. We will generally respond within 2-4 weeks.

Where we rely on your consent to use your personal information (such as a mailing list for the newsletter) you have the right to withdraw such consent or unsubscribe at any time.

You have the right to be told how your personal information will be used – this Privacy Notice is intended to make this clear.

You can request that the information that we hold is deleted.

If you believe that any personal information we hold on you is incorrect or incomplete, please contact us so that your information can be updated.

8) Does our privacy policy change?

We keep our Privacy Notice under review and reserve the right to amend it from time-to-time, or to comply with changes in the law, by posting an updated version on our website.
